2
Alice Gordon: The big discussion was about connectivity. Items that took the least money took most of the
discussion.

Karen Lincoln: They brought up the water systems and a lot of good points.

VI. Items for BOCC Annual Planning Retreat

Sam Lasris: Has a date been set?

Karen Lincoln: I talked with Donna, and she said nothing had been set.

Alice Gordon: It will be in January, I suspect.

Sam Lasris: On attachment 3, is this part of the road widening for bicycling?

Karen Lincoln: We had identified that and there was a problem with the resurfacing and DOT had agreed. They
were going to go back and try to resurface the places they missed. You did have a big impact.

Bryn Smith: It looks like the Estes Drive extension is starting to happen.

Sam Lasris: Anyone have anything to add to the discussion of Attachment 3? I wondered if there is work on
developing a plan on trails.

Nancy Baker: It is one of our objectives, I think.

Karen Lincoln: It ties into the Comprehensive Transportation Plan. There will be coordination between this Board
and other advisory boards to develop some of those plans and there will be coordination with the ERCD.

Bryn Smith: CFE is ready to begin working on the 2008-2010 “wish list” for the Lands Legacy Program.

Jan Grossman: The Mountains to the Sea was originally going through the northern part of the County but now it is
going through Duke Forest and the southern part. It would be nice to have something in the northern part. I think we
need to work on that.

Nancy Baker: We have two plans; the County’s Comprehensive Plan and then we have an element of that plan in
our own Comprehensive Transportation Plan to get done.

Karen Lincoln: Which ties into the element of the Comprehensive Plan.

Nancy Baker: We have ideas, how do we need to proceed from here? What do we need to do next?

Pat Middendorf: What about starting with a few very concrete projects.

Nancy Baker: That is a good idea. We could focus on a project and the objectives for that project.

Sam Lasris: We have a timeline with a guide on how to proceed.

Nancy Baker: Our agendas will be to talk about these objectives.

Karen Lincoln: About prioritizing the objectives.
