• Murray expects to receive the findings of the UNC Public Policy Capstone initiative <br />by the end of this month. <br /> <br />V. Liaison Reports: <br />• Hoke: <br />o Murray presented the State of the Arts of Orange County report to the <br />Visitors Bureau. <br />• Friend: <br />o The Hillsborough Arts Council is working on developing a branding and <br />marketing plan. <br />o Plans for a face-lift at the Gallery and Gift Shop will include a new door, and <br />street-scaping at the front of the building. <br />o Dates to remember: Art in the Heart of Hillsborough, April 21st and <br />Handmade Parade October 14th. Katie remarked that she wants the OCAC <br />to have an entry in the parade. <br />• Mills: <br />o The new members reception and orientation for the Orange County Artist <br />Guild was well attended. <br />o Plans for the 2018 Studio Tour are underway. <br />o The Artist Guild has been invited to have an Expo at Frank Gallery. <br />• Mayer: <br />o Registration for the summer art camps is almost full. Considering expansion <br />of the program. <br />o The Arts Center will partner with Odyssey Theater to reinstate the 10 x 10 <br />production. Scripts will be limited to North Carolina playwrights. <br />o The Women’s Playwrights Festival is scheduled for August. This a Triangle- <br />wide event. <br />o The Tibetan monks will be back at TAC May 14-20 to create a mandala. <br />o The public art policy has been approved by Carrboro. <br /> <br />VI. Advocacy Updates: <br />• The “Art Moments” presented by local poets at the County Commissioners’ <br />meetings have been going well. <br />• May 23-24 is Arts Day at the NC General Assembly. This is our opportunity to <br />advocate for the arts with our legislators. Board members are encouraged to <br />participate. <br />VII.
