Hoke called the meeting to order at 6:35 followed by introductions and welcome to our new <br />members. <br /> <br />II. Friend moved, Nissler seconded to approve the February 12th minutes. Motion passed. <br /> <br />III. Grants Update: <br />• The grant process is now totally on-line. Katie will begin training sessions soon. <br />• Marcela, Marlon and Ashley volunteered to assist in translating the on-line grant <br />process into Spanish. <br /> <br />IV. Director’s Report <br />• Murray thanked Marcela, Chris, Fred, Doris, Tim, Linda, Delia and Ashley for their <br />help with the Monumental Voices event. It was a big success. <br />• Murray announced that we have a new calendar program for the website. It should <br />be a big improvement. <br />• The SmArt Initiative, a public/privet partnership for public arts, application is due at <br />the end of this month. The Town of Chapel Hill is applying for funds to purchase the <br />Varsity Theater for renovation into a performance arts space. <br />• The Orange County Arts Leadership Group continues to meet. <br />• Local Fest at Blackwood Farm is planned for September 29th. The event will focus on <br />local farms, culinary arts, visual arts, musical events, etc. OCAC has been asked to <br />jury the visual arts portion. <br />• Orange County Commissioners have asked Murray to draft a public arts policy. <br />• Intern Georgia Brunner has been accepted into grad school and will leave us in May <br />or June. Murray will begin the search process for her replacement.
