to
ATTACHMENT2
7. Recommendation from the EDD Transportation Work Group -Extend Orange
Grove Road east to US 70 business. The "Access Management and Awareness
Project and Report for Orange Grove Road" also recommends this project as an
alternative access to the US 70 Business/NC 86 corridor that would alleviate
congestion on Churton Street.
Board members support the Orange Grove Road/US70-A extension to divert
commuter traffic around Hillsborough.
8.
9, The Board supports all bicycle projects. Members noted a preference for off road
facilities, but would welcome 4 foot paved shoulders along rural roads. Particular
areas of interest are Old 86 South towards Garrboro, Dairyland Road and Orange
Grove Road. Old 86 from Hillsborough to Garrboro is a Primary Priority route in
Orange County's Bicycle Transportation Plan. Orange Grove Road, from
Hillsborough to Dodson's Crossroads, is a Secondary Priority route in that plan.
direct connection to I-S5.
Some Board members recommend straightening Efland-Cedar Grove Road and
creating a direct route from Efland-Cedar Grove Road to I-40/85.
