Page 3 of 3 <br />7. What is the source(s) of the matching funds? <br />Orange county will provide 1.5 acres needed for the Durham Tech satellite <br />campus park & ride lot. The land is in a mixed -use development and the <br />purchase price is $62,500 /acre ($93,750 total). Orange County also has money <br />budgeted for the new justice facility expansion that can be used for the match for <br />improvements at that site. Orange County will supply the local match for OPT <br />operations through the county's yearly budgeting process as indicated in <br />attached resolution.. <br />The Town of Hillsborough has also agreed to participate in the local match, but <br />the exact amount has not been agreed upon. Hillsborough has also agreed to <br />participate in a marketing campaign for the transit service. Match for operating <br />expenses is discussed below. <br />8. For agencies seeking operating assistance, how will the program be funded after year <br />three? <br />Orange County will supply the local match for OPT operations through the <br />county's yearly budgeting process as indicated in attached resolution. Orange <br />County anticipates that ridership on the proposed service will increase OPT <br />ridership and, therefore, farebox collections. The existing OPT general service <br />route generates 18% of current operating expenses for that route. <br />Orange County also anticipates the Town of Hillsborough's continued <br />participation in providing the local match, as the proposed service is an intra- <br />Hillsborough route. <br />Miscellaneous <br />9.
