WHEREAS, the eligibility provisions under TEA -21 allow any area designated as <br />non- attainment or maintenance for carbon monoxide, ozone, or fine particulate <br />matter (PM2.5) after December 1, 1997 to be eligible for CMAQ federal funds; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County, North Carolina was designated as non - attainment <br />for the national eight hour ozone standard on April 15, 2004, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of <br />County Commissioners conceptually endorses the attached Congestion <br />Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program grant application for a Transit Center <br />at the Durham Tech satellite campus site at Waterstone, including a Park and <br />Ride Facility and new Orange Public Transportation antra- Hillsborough service, <br />for submittal to the Transportation Advisory Committees of the Durham - Chapel <br />Hill - Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Triangle Area Rural <br />Planning Organization. <br />FURTHERMORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Orange County, subject to any <br />additional information and review, commits to providing the required local match <br />for each year's allocation of these CMAQ grant funds for capital and operating <br />costs and future operating expenses for the Intra••Hillsborough route. <br />UBon motion of Commissioner seconded by Commissioner <br />the foregoin6 resolution was adopted this the 1 y ``' day of <br />2004. <br />I, Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, <br />North Carolina, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true copy of so <br />much of the proceedings of said Board at a meeting held on December 14, 2004, <br />as relates in any way to the adoption of the foregoing and that said proceedings <br />are recorded in the minutes of said Board. <br />WW TN hand and the seal of said County, this day of <br />2004. <br />Clerk fo the Board of Commissioners <br />
