He said these students are not included in the ADM, because they pay tuition.
Chair Dorosin asked if the number of the actual students in the seats could be identified.
Bonnie Hammersley said she would get the specific numbers in a simpler format to the
BOCC by the May 10th public hearing.
Commissioner Rich asked if this changes the percentages.
Bonnie Hammersley said no, and the ADM determines the percentages, and those
percentages are determined by the information received from DPI.
Commissioner McKee said, as he understands it, in Orange County Schools there are
103 out of district students in the seats, for which the County does not pay, and 769 students in
charter schools seats, for which the County does pay. He said he would like to know this specific figure.
Bonnie Hammersley said staff will get that information to the BOCC. She resumed the
PowerPoint presentation:

Capital Funding for Schools

Bonnie Hammersley said she is recommending a Deferred Maintenance Plan for each
of the school districts, and is proposing to use about $3 million out of the $8 million fund
balance.
