20 <br /> <br />The Board considered making appointments to the Commission for the Environment. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner McKee to <br />appoint the following to the Commission for the Environment. <br /> <br />k. Appointment to a partial term (position #8) “At-Large” for Carrie Fletcher <br />expiring12/31/2019. <br />l. Appointment to a partial term (position #12) “Engineering” for James Eichel expiring <br />12/31/2018. <br /> <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> <br />According to previous BOCC discussions, if an applicant is not sent for recommendation by the <br />CFE for position #3 by this appointment date, the BOCC will move forward with an appointment <br /> <br />At Large Position: <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Chair Dorosin to appoint <br />Laurie Langham for Position 3. <br /> <br />VOTE: Yeas, 3 (Commissioner Price, Chair Dorosin, and Commissioner Marcoplos); Nays, 4 <br />(Commissioner Burroughs, Commissioner Jacobs, Commissioner Rich and Commissioner <br />McKee) <br /> <br />MOTION FAILED. <br /> <br />Commissioner McKee said he sees no harm in allowing more time to recruit, as there is <br />only one vacancy on this commission. <br />Commissioner Jacobs said there is member that has served three terms (two terms in a <br />row, stayed out a year, and is now back on the board), and he would like applicant biographies <br />to indicate this type of service when it exists. <br />Chair Dorosin said he was not pushing to fill the vacancy due to the commission being <br />understaffed, rather he sees that people are willing to volunteer, and he thinks these people <br />should be recognized and given an opportunity. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Chair Dorosin to appoint Emily <br />Mixon to Position 3. <br /> <br />VOTE: Yeas, 4 (Commissioner Rich, Chair Dorosin, Commissioner Marcoplos, and <br />Commissioner Burroughs); Nays, 3 (Commissioner Jacobs, Commissioner McKee, and <br />Commissioner Price) <br /> <br />MOTION PASSES, 4-3. <br /> <br />b.
