Staff <br />plans to bring recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners in a future BOCC <br />meeting for closing out completed portions of county capital projects. <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br />associated with this item. <br /> <br /> <br />Animal Services <br />2. The Animal Services Department has received donations totaling $19,320 for the <br />Community Spay/Neuter Fund. These funds will be used to sustain efforts to sterilize <br />barn (and other) cats through the end of the fiscal year, and sterilization services for pets <br />belonging to people with household incomes between 200 and 400 percent of the poverty <br />level. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these donated funds for the <br />above stated purposes in the Community Spay/Neuter Fund, a Special Revenue Fund <br />outside of the General Fund. (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br />associated with this item. <br /> <br /> <br />Health Department <br />3. The Health Department has received notification of the following funds: <br />• 2018 Smiles for Kids Grant – receipt of a $2,000 grant award from the Delta <br />Dental Foundation. These funds will be used for purchasing medical supplies for <br />the dental clinic. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these <br />additional funds. <br />• 2016 Medicaid Cost Settlement funds – notification from the North Carolina <br />Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Medical Assistance, of the <br />receipt of $784,564 in 2016 Medicaid Cost Settlement funds. These funds will be <br />allocated in the following manner: $632,203 will be budgeted in the Medicaid <br />Maximization Capital Project, and $152,361 will be budgeted for use in the <br />General Fund. A portion of the General Fund allocation ($127,361) will be used <br />for a 3 year Agreement with UNC Healthcare to implement the new Epic Electronic <br />Medical Records system, and the remaining $25,000 will be used to contract for <br />scanning of all remaining TB and communicable disease medical charts that are <br />required to be retained. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of funds totaling $152,361 in the General <br />Fund, and amends the following Capital Project Ordinance for the portion ($632,203) <br />budgeted in the Medicaid Maximization Capital Project.
