Appointment to a partial term (position #12) “Engineering” for James Eichel expiring 8 <br />12/31/2018. 9 <br /> 10 <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS 11 <br /> 12 <br />According to previous BOCC discussions, if an applicant is not sent for recommendation by the 13 <br />CFE for position #3 by this appointment date, the BOCC will move forward with an appointment 14 <br /> 15 <br />At Large Position: 16 <br /> 17 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Chair Dorosin to appoint 18 <br />Laurie Langham for Position 3. 19 <br /> 20 <br />VOTE: Yeas, 3 (Commissioner Price, Chair Dorosin, and Commissioner Marcoplos); Nays, 4 21 <br />(Commissioner Burroughs, Commissioner Jacobs, Commissioner Rich and Commissioner 22 <br />McKee) 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION FAILED. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Commissioner McKee said he sees no harm in allowing more time to recruit, as there is 27 <br />only one vacancy on this commission. 28 <br />Commissioner Jacobs said there is member that has served three terms (two terms in a 29 <br />row, stayed out a year, and is now back on the board), and he would like applicant biographies 30 <br />to indicate this type of service when it exists. 31 <br />Chair Dorosin said he was not pushing to fill the vacancy due to the commission being 32 <br />understaffed, rather he sees that people are willing to volunteer, and he thinks these people 33 <br />should be recognized and given an opportunity. 34 <br /> 35 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Chair Dorosin to appoint Emily 36 <br />Mixon to Position 3. 37 <br /> 38 <br />VOTE: Yeas, 4 (Commissioner Rich, Chair Dorosin, Commissioner Marcoplos, and 39 <br />Commissioner Burroughs); Nays, 3 (Commissioner Jacobs, Commissioner McKee, and 40 <br />Commissioner Price) 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION PASSES, 4-3. 43 <br /> 44 <br />b.
