42 <br />List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually <br />• Review, hold public hearings, and make recommendations regarding National Register <br />Nominations and /or Local Landmark or Local Historic District designation proposals. <br />• Complete annual Certified Local Government (CLG) status report, (and satisfy annual <br />requirements). <br />• Identify priorities for the Lands Legacy Annual Action Plan (cultural and archaeological <br />sites) <br />Review and comment on projects.with significant preservation components (such as <br />development projects with significant historic /archaeological sites). <br />• Conduct special studies (architectural history and /or archaeological surveys) <br />What 2001 -2002 BOCC adopted goal(s), if any, does this board/commission have a role <br />in carrying out? <br />• Historic Preservation <br />• Lands Legacy. <br />• Rural Character (Objective 1D —Farmland Preservation, and Objective 2 —Visual Resource <br />Protection) <br />Describe this board/commission's activities /accomplishments in carrying out the 2001- <br />2002 BOCC goal(s),.if applicable. <br />• Developed recommendations for the Lands Legacy Annual Action Plan to protect Cultural <br />and Archaeological resources <br />• Provided comments on Shaping Orange County's Future recommendations <br />• Began work on new program to protect the cultural and visual resources along special <br />corridors <br />• Considered revisions to the Local Landmark program to make the program more suited to <br />the county's needs <br />• Began work on design guidelines for use in the Local Landmark program <br />• Reviewed sites for inclusion in the inventory section of the Architectural History publication <br />• Held joint meeting with Planning Board and Agricultural Preservation Board <br />• Submitted recommendation to BOCC regarding the impact of the proposed The Olive Branch <br />Inn Bed & Breakfast Special Use Permit to the Dr. Arch Jordan House (a National Register <br />property) <br />Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry out in 2002 -2003 as they <br />relate to established BOCC goals. <br />• Complete work on proposed Heritage /Scenic Corridor program <br />• Complete revisions to the Local Landmark program including design guidelines <br />• Continue to review and advise on Lands Legacy acquisitions that would protect important <br />historic, cultural and archaeological sites <br />• Continue to assist in the development of preservation plans for historic structures on Lands <br />Legacy acquisition sites <br />• Prepare the Orange County Historic Architectural Resource materials for publication <br />
