41 <br />ORANGE COUNTY ADVISORY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />INPUT FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' ANNUAL PLANNING RETREAT <br />February 2, 2002 <br />The Board of Commissioners has expressed interest in receiving input from various <br />advisory boards and commissions in preparation for the BOCC's annual planning retreat. <br />Please complete the following information, limited to the front and back sides of this <br />form. Recommend to the BOCC areas to be designated as "historic districts" and individual <br />structures or sites to be designated as "landmarks, " and to recommend areas, sites or <br />structures to be revoked from designation. <br />3. To review and act upon applications far Certificates of Appropriateness (COA) for <br />alterations, demolition or new construction within historic districts or designated landmarks. <br />4. To cooperate with State, Federal, and local governments in the pursuance of historic <br />preservation, and to offer or request assistance, aid, guidance, or advice concerning matters <br />of historic preservation. <br />5. To educate the public and local officials on historic preservation issues. <br />6. To perform special studies and projects regarding historic preservation— including cultural, <br />archaeological and in some cases scenic resources, as requested by the BOCC and to <br />recommend historic preservation initiatives to the BOCC. <br />
