42 <br />B. Membership <br />The Advisory Board shall consist of not less than fifteen (15) members appointed by the <br />Board of Commissioners. <br />C. Membership Requirements <br />Each member shall be a Chatham County resident. <br />2. A member shall be actively engaged in farming, agribusiness, or a representative of <br />agricultural interests. <br />3. Each voluntary agricultural region established hereunder shall be represented by at <br />least one member. <br />4. The Board of Commissioners shall consider recommendations as to prospective <br />members, if any, of the Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors, <br />the Chatham County committee of the U.S. Farm Service Agency, and the Chatham <br />County office of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and others <br />involved in agriculture or interested in the purposes of this ordinance. <br />D. Tenure <br />Each member shall serve a term of three (3) years except that the initial Board shall consist <br />of 5 members who shall serve a term of one (1) year; 5 members who shall serve a term of <br />two (2) years; and 5 members who shall serve a term of three (3) years. Thereafter all <br />appointments shall be for terms of three (3) years notwithstanding the above limits. District <br />representatives may be appointed and re- appointed as necessary to assure representation as <br />required by (3) above. <br />E. Vacancies <br />Any vacancy on the Board is to be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term. <br />F. Removal <br />Any member of the Advisory Board may be removed by the Board of Commissioners for <br />cause. <br />G. Advisory Board Procedure <br />The Advisory Board shall develop procedures for the conduct of its meetings consistent with <br />Robert's Rules of Order. It shall meet at least annually and at such other times as the <br />Advisory Board shall provide in its rules or upon the request of a majority of its members. <br />
