This <br />exceeds the amount available for sale in the area by more than <br />86,000. Either animals are imported into the area to be sold, or <br />the yearly output numbers in Table 1 are underestimated due to <br />multiple sales of some animals. <br />The Hillsborough market is third in size in the area. <br />Producers now using Hillsborough to market their cattle and hogs <br />have available the markets in the other four locations. Virginia <br />does not conduct feeder pig sales at their locations. Hills- <br />borough feeder pigs would have available only_the auction markets <br />in Siler City and Oxford. Except for the volume of special <br />sales, it does not appear that capacities in the four other sale <br />locations would limit absorption of Hillsborough's marketings <br />should it cease to exist. <br />
