Training provided by <br />the NC Community College System under <br />this project will cultivate workforce skills <br />that will help attract additional agri -bio <br />ventures to Scotland County. The <br />program will prepare participants for 150 <br />job openings over the next two years at <br />Cox Media in the following areas: <br />printing press operators, material <br />handlers, machine operators, mail sorters, <br />lift truck operators and clerical personnel. <br />Servicing Wilson County <br />Pamlico County SEEED Project (Sustainable <br />Employment through Environmental and <br />Economic Development) <br />Grantee Pamlico Community College <br />Amount $48,000 <br />Project The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is <br />to support Pamlico Community College <br />in training local businesses to market, <br />manufacture, install and maintain <br />affordable, environmentally friendly and <br />permittabie wastewater treatment <br />systems in eastern NC. The project will <br />utilize proven technology (ReCip), <br />created by TVA, which treats wastewater <br />sufficiently to allow permitting where a <br />septic system cannot be used. <br />Servicing Pamlico County <br />GOLDENLfEAF 2002 Annual Report 19 <br />
