<br />Project This Golden LEAF grant will be used by
<br />the North Carolina Biotechnology Center
<br />to develop, perform and analyze a
<br />bioprocess manufacturing workforce
<br />training needs assessment; conduct an
<br />inventory of current educational resources
<br />available to meet these needs; and
<br />coordinate a strategic plan for a
<br />comprehensive statewide program of
<br />biomanufacturing workforce training.
<br />The project will result in the generation
<br />of a report combining the results of the
<br />workforce training needs assessment and
<br />the inventory of current educational
<br />resources; a strategic plan based on the
<br />data obtained in the needs assessment
<br />and inventory, and an executive summary
<br />brochure that presents the major findings
<br />from the surveys, previews the strategic
<br />plan, and emphasizes the significances of
<br />this statewide initiative to economic
<br />development in North Carolina.

<br />partner with Alamance, Vance - Granville
<br />and Wake Technical Community
<br />Colleges to deliver hospitality training to
<br />60 participants in one of three career
<br />tracks: food service management,
<br />lodging operations, and tourism and
<br />hospitality management. The target
<br />population will be displaced tobacco
<br />workers from jP Taylor and others.
