<br />Refrigerated Services' acquisition and

<br />Storage Facility. Millard will offer cold

<br />for the poultry industry. The program
<br />will create a minimum of 30 new jobs,
<br />help meet current and increased
<br />demands of business and industry,
<br />provide water backup for industrial
<br />needs, support job creation and
<br />retention initiatives in agri - business, work
<br />with the community college system in
<br />training to meet job market demands,
<br />and develop a workforce partnership to
<br />assure job readiness in rural Iredell and
<br />surrounding communities.

<br />workers at Thomas Built Buses. The
<br />project will create 178 new jobs and
<br />retain 1,000 production jobs.

<br />Project This Golden LEAF grant will enable the
<br />Harnett County Economic Development
<br />Commission to obtain site certification for
<br />the Edgerton I industrial Park, a 47 -acre
<br />tract of land located outside the city limits
<br />of Dunn, NC. Certification of the site will
<br />verify for prospective clients that an in-
<br />depth analysis of the property has been
<br />completed. Site certification will increase
<br />the statewide inventory of certified sites
<br />and offer Harnett County a competitive
<br />edge in industrial recruitment. Upon
<br />certification, the Harnett County
<br />Economic Development Commission will
<br />begin marketing the Edgerton I Industrial
<br />Park as a "shovel- ready" site.

<br />Project Funds from this Golden LEAF grant are
<br />to be used to complete an all- weather,
<br />multi - purpose facility as a year -round
<br />market outlet for agricultural products
<br />and a regional center for agricultural
<br />events.

<br />Grantee Industrial Opportunities, Inc.
<br />Amount $60;000
<br />Project The purpose of this grant is to purchase
<br />equipment to fulfill contracts worth
<br />$1.5 *million to manufacture A -22 cargo
<br />bags and extraction lines for U.S.
<br />military airdrops. The plan is to employ
<br />30 disadvantaged workers. Focusing on
<br />dislocated older workers, this project
<br />will increase job training and variety of
<br />work offered to adults with disabilities.
<br />The project will be sustained from the
<br />sale of goods. The long -term impact is
<br />to offer additional employment
<br />opportunities to a three -county area that
<br />has lost jobs due to loss of textile plants,
<br />a furniture plant and the loss of
<br />productive farms. The equipment will be
<br />used after the life of this contract to
<br />attract other contracts that require this
<br />specialty equipment.

<br />Center.

<br />Project The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is
<br />to assist Johnston County Industries with
<br />purchasing equipment and training
<br />individuals to manufacture 20,000
<br />commutators per day under contract
<br />with Morganite. The project will create
<br />60 new jobs and generate $16 million in
<br />new revenues for Johnston and Harnett
<br />counties.
