11 <br />C, FARMS WITHOUT CONSERVATION PLANS OR USE VALUE TAXATION <br />To become enrolled as a Voluntary Agricultural District, a farm must have a conservation plan on file with the <br />Natural Resource Conservation Service (located in the Orange Soil and Water District offices), and must be <br />enrolled in the Present Use Value taxation program with the County Tax Assessor. <br />If your farm is not listed in either or both of these programs, would you like someone to contact you about <br />how to enroll? <br />Once you have listed a conservation plan with NRCS and enrolled in Present Use Value taxation, the property <br />may be reconsidered for Voluntary Agricultural District membership, <br />D. CONSERVATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN COUNTY AND PROPERTY OWNER <br />Once a farm property has been certified as qualifying farmland and meets the provisions listed above, the <br />County and the farm owner enter into a voluntary conservation agreement, as set out in the N.C. General <br />Statues (106- 737.1).
