2 <br />Page 1 <br />DRAFT MINUTES <br />AGRICULTURAL PRESERVATION BOARD <br />January 31, 2001 <br />PRESENT: Whit Morrow, Nancy Goodwin, Bob Strayhorn, Louise Tate, Tony <br />Kleese, Marty Mandell, Rodney Recor, Noah Ranells, Environment <br />& Resource Conservation Director David Stancil, Preservation <br />Planner Tina Moon, Administrative Assistant Carol Melton. <br />Guests present: Bob Nutter <br />ABSENT: Charles Thompson, Elizabeth Walters <br />ITEM #1: CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Chair Morrow. <br />ITEM #2: CONSIDERATION OF ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />There were no additions noted. <br />ITEM #3: APPROVAL OF MINUTES December 20, 2000 <br />MOTION: Kleese moved approval of the December 20, 2000 minutes. <br />Seconded by Recor. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. <br />ITEM #4: ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />a. APB Comments — Shaping Orange County's Future <br />Provisional Report <br />Morrow asked Stancil to guide the APB on what areas to focus on <br />in the SOCF report. The idea is to provide feedback to the BOCC about the <br />report and if is consistent with the goals of this board and the county for farmland <br />preservation, and identify if there are gaps in the report. A template of typical <br />questions followed by a consensus of how the group feels about the <br />recommendations of the SOCF Task Force was suggested. Staff to pull together <br />a report to the BOCC based on the answers from the APB to the following <br />questions. <br />• Does the SOCF report address and/or support goals of the Agricultural <br />Preservation Board? <br />Draft 1/31/2001 1 <br />
