25 NC Farmland P reservationT rust Fund Grants in 2001 The NC General Assembly for FY 2000 -01 made a non - recurring appropriation of $1,500,000 to the Farmland Preservation Trust Fund (with an additional $200,000 to the State's Geographic Information and Analysis Service for natural and agricultural resource mapping). The NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services again contracted the private, not - for - profit Conservation Trust for North Carolina (CTNC) to administer the grant program. Eleven grant applications were received in December, 2000, with requests exceeding $2.3 million. Nine grants were recommended by CTNC and approved by the Department of Agriculture in January, 2001.
