Members discussed using the Historic Preservation Element as a template <br />model to come up with agricultural preservation element of the Comprehensive <br />Plan. Historical & wildlife elements were also noted as important parts to be <br />included. Kleese requested staff to take the information discussed and write a <br />statement to be forwarded to the CPLUC and, to mail to members for a formal <br />vote. <br />b. Updates to APB Portion of ERCD Web Site <br />Members reviewed the current web site pages and noted that the meeting <br />calendar needs to be updated. Kleese asked Walters, as the APB archivist, to <br />enhance and add to the history information. Members also asked staff to add <br />to the site things that the APB has accomplished since 2000. Ranells <br />suggested additional links to farmland sites such as the American Farmland <br />Trust. <br />C. Proposed Agricultural Boards Breakfast <br />Previously members agreed to have a breakfast meeting with other farm - <br />related agencies. The first meeting should focus on getting to know the other <br />staff members. The next meeting(s) can include interested members of the <br />community. Groups to include: Cooperative Extension Service, Farm Service <br />Agency, S &W Conservation, NCRS, Commissioners, EDC, and Mike Lanier. <br />Members discussed a Hillsborough location for the event such as the Village <br />Diner or Kelsey's Cafe. Anticipated breakfast time - -8: 00 a.m. <br />As discussed at a previous meeting staff polled members for a date in May and <br />wrote a letter from this board inviting the other agencies to the breakfast with <br />some of the different farm - related agencies. Kleese signed the letters for <br />distribution to Farm Service Agency, Cooperative Extension Service and Soil & <br />Water Conservation agency. Possible dates are May 8, 13, 14 and 15. <br />ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn by Warren, seconded by Ranells. The <br />meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. <br />DRAFT <br />
