06 <br />be part of local, state or federal farmland preservation programs to be <br />eligible for purchasing agricultural conservation easements; a farmer -to- <br />farmer transfer program that would be exempt from the use -value tax <br />rollback; a PDR and TDR program to work exclusively with VADs; <br />expanding of the use -value program to include equine - related activity <br />sites and provide for the equine industry to participate in the VAD <br />program; and encourage and eventually require state institutions to use <br />local or state grown products. <br />Other discussion included programs of heritage farm as a focal point on <br />VAD's, agricultural tourism, bed & breakfast inns, gift shops selling local <br />produced and home produced goods, catering use of farm buildings, <br />legislative commission on preservation of small family farms, industrial <br />hemp growing forum. The idea of a presentation by the APB on farm <br />preservation for the local Sierra Club in February was broached and <br />information on a Sustainable Agriculture Conference information was <br />distributed. <br />c.
