Fletcher Barber, Jr.
County Extension Director
Dr. Barber welcomed everyone to the meeting thanking them for attending. He stated
that the purpose of this meeting is to formulate ideas for the 2001 Agricultural Summit.
Dr. Barber noted that the number of farmers that attended last year's Agricultural Summit
was down from the year before. This is a concern as the focus of the Agricultural
Summit is to provide farmers with alternative production ideas. At this point he opened
the discussion to Karen McAdams and Royce Hardin for proposed program activities.
Proposed Program Activities ................................ ............................... W. Royce Hardin
Karen McAdams
Agricultural Extension Agents
Royce Hardin provided a hand -out with an idea for alternative production education
involving a three part series. This would involve:
1) Agricultural Meeting — all day meeting with speakers focusing on Marketing
Alternatives for agricultural products and services.
