The <br />General Assembly of North Carolina passed <br />this tax credit in 1984. At the beginning of <br />the year, the SoSA will send notification <br />concerning the type, amount, and value of a <br />grower's donations over the previous year. <br />- A trained field supervisor is on hand for <br />every gleaning event. Students will have <br />the opportunity to participate in planned <br />group activities on different farms. Individ- <br />ual farmers will share the particulars of their <br />farming operation with the visiting students. <br />The students will work with the lead instruc- <br />tor to synthesize a comparison of local farm- <br />Page 4 <br />ing systems. Recommended for interns, <br />those ready to begin their own farm busi- <br />ness and anyone interested in the details of <br />local farming operations. Emphasis will be <br />on vegetable production, but tours will <br />also include fruits, cut flowers, herbs and <br />livestock.
