ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: February 15, 2005 <br />Action Age~a <br />Item No. <br />SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT (S): <br />NO <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Baker, ext 2130 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To consider two changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar <br />for the year 2005. <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br />Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br />the Regular Meeting Schedule. <br />The Board of County Commissioners will consider amending their regular meeting schedule by <br />changing the locations of the two Budget Public Hearings: the May 315` Budget Public hearing <br />would change to Southern Human Services Center (it was previously scheduled for <br />Hillsborough) and the .June 2"d Budget Public Hearing would be changed to the F, Gordan <br />Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North Carolina (this was previously scheduled for Chapel Hill <br />and would have conflicted with a CHCCS Board Meeting). <br />The Board of County Commissioners will also consider amending their regular meeting <br />schedule by adding a dinner meeting on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 5:30 p,m, at the <br />Government Services Center (prior to the 7:30 p,m. OPH at F. Gordon Battle Courtroom in <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina,) The purpose of this meeting will be for the Board of <br />Commissioners to receive a report from the Educational Excellence Work Group. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br />RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular <br />meeting calendar changing the locations of the two Budget Public Hearings: the May 315` <br />Budget Public hearing would change tc Southern Human Services Center (it was previously <br />scheduled for Hillsborough) and the June 2"d Budget Public Hearing would be changed to the F, <br />
