iVA <br />participates in park master planning efforts. (Goal 6) <br />Describe the collaboration relationship(s) this particular board has with other <br />advisory boards and commissions? <br />The Council has collaborated with the Commission for the Environment <br />and the Intergovernmental Parks Work Group, and also shared information <br />with the Board of Health on healthy lifestyles and parks. The PRC regularly <br />meets with its sister advisory boards in the three towns, and hosted a joint <br />meeting in March 2016. The Council has also advised and reviewed <br />information from Orange County Sportsplex, the Town of Hillsborough, <br />Fairview Community Watch, the Occoneechee Tribal Council and the <br />Alliance for Historic Hillsborough (River Park). <br />If your board /commission played the role of an Element Lead Advisory Board <br />involved in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation process, please indicate <br />your board's activities /accomplishments as they may relate to the <br />Comprehensive Plan's goals or objectives. <br />(The Element Lead Advisory Boards include: Planning Board, EDC, OUTBoard, <br />Commission for the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission, Agriculture <br />Preservation Board, Affordable Housing Board, Recreation and Parks Advisory <br />Council) <br />The PRC assisted in the implementation of park master plans, such as the <br />Hollow Rock Nature Park (Objective PR 3.2). <br />Assist in and advise on the planning for the Mountains to Sea Trail <br />(Objective PR 5.4). <br />The PRC reviewed and made recommendations on community center <br />operations and mission. (Objective E 2) <br />The PRC addressed status of recommendations and issues from P &R <br />Master Plan 2030 (Objective PR 5.6). <br />Identify any activities this board /commission expects to carry out in 2018 as they <br />relate to established BOCC goals and priorities. <br />If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other resources) <br />associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br />• Advise on the pending construction of Phase 2 -A at Blackwood Farm <br />Park, including the potential for partnership on the Nature Center <br />and the Disc Golf course among others. <br />• Review and advise on the design and layout for of the Soccer.com <br />Center Expansion. <br />• Participate in any needed revisions for the Cedar Grove Park Master <br />Plan with Phase 2 scheduled for FY 2018 -19 <br />• Continue to participate in the Mountains to Sea Trail project as <br />
