Review, comment, and make recommendations on annual federal <br />appropriations for programs 5307, 5340, 5339 and 5310 grant allocations <br />for Orange County Public Transit (OPCT). (BOCC Goal 3, Priority 20). <br />14. If referred by the BOCC: <br />a. Implementation efforts related to the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) <br />Action Plan (BOCC Goal 3, Priority 20). <br />What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br />upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the <br />Commissioners' attention? <br />1. Continue to explore implementation opportunities for Safe Routes to <br />School (SRTS) projects; <br />2. Pursuit of funding sources for prioritized transportation projects and track <br />status of project implementation; <br />3. Coordinate connectivity and infrastructural changes with the towns in <br />order to create better conditions for bicycling and other alternate forms of <br />non - motorized transportation; <br />4. Work with NCDOT to promote funding of pedestrian and bicycle projects <br />in rural areas to a greater degree. <br />5. Promote alternative transportation modes during peak hours via public - <br />private partnerships through collaboration with the OC TDM Coordinator. <br />
