Business meetings every two months. Four <br />visits per year from sub - committee members to each of the four nursing homes in <br />Orange County. <br />Brief Statement of Board /Commission's Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br />• Stay informed about living conditions and quality of life for residents living in <br />nursing homes. <br />• Assist persons with grievance resolution regarding residents' rights issues. <br />• Make official unannounced quarterly visits to each nursing home. <br />• Prepare and submit official reports on visits to nursing homes. Approved <br />reports are posted on the county website. <br />• Work with the County Department on Aging and the Triangle J Ombudsman <br />regarding programs to improve living conditions and quality of life for residents <br />of nursing homes. <br />• Serve as a nucleus to activate the community to support and improve quality of <br />life for older adults living in nursing homes. Facilitate engagement of <br />community volunteers for this purpose. <br />• Promote activities in nursing homes that support resident well -being and reduce <br />social isolation. <br />
