Harvey, Current Planning Supervisor <br /> DATE: April 25, 2018 <br /> SUBJECT: REAPPOINTMENT of Member to Orange County Board of <br />Adjustment <br /> <br />Please accept this memorandum as the Planning Departm ent's formal recommendation that <br />Mr. Randy Herman be appointed to serve as a full mem ber of the Orange County Board of <br />Adjustment (hereafter ‘Board’). <br /> <br />This move was necessitated by the resignation of Board member Mr. Matt Hughes in April <br />of 2018. Mr. Hughes’ was in his first term as a Board member, which was due to expire on <br />June 30, 2018. <br /> <br />Mr. Herman was appointed as an alternate to the Board on June 6, 2017 to his first term, <br />which will end on June 30, 2020. Since that tim e there have been approximately 3 <br />meetings of the Board acting on 2 individual cases. Mr. Herman has served as a ‘f ull voting <br />mem ber’ of the Board on both occasions due to the excused absence of a regular member. <br /> <br />Mr. Herman has expressed a desire to be appointed to serve as a f ull Board mem ber. <br />Staff recommends he be appointed to same consistent with his current term. <br /> <br />Please let m e know if I can be of further assistance. <br />6
