NCDOT Petition Information for <br />Amberidge Drive in Amberidge <br />Subdivision <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Abigaile Pittman, 919 - 245 -2567 <br />Tom Altieri, 919 - 245 -2579 <br />Craig Benedict, 919 - 245 -2592 <br />PURPOSE: To make a recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />( NCDOT), and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT), concerning a petition to <br />add Amberidge Drive in Amberidge Subdivision to the State Maintained Secondary Road <br />System. <br />BACKGROUND: This request includes a petition for one (1) road addition to the State <br />Maintained Secondary Road System. The road and its respective length and width are as <br />follows: <br />Road Name <br />Length in Miles <br />Number of Frontage <br />Pavement /Right -of -way <br />Lots with Houses <br />Widths in Feet <br />Amberidge Drive <br />0.11 <br />8 <br />18/50 <br />Amberidge Subdivision <br />Amberidge Subdivision is located between University Station Road and the Chapel Hill Spur of <br />the Southern Railroad in northern Chapel Hill Township (Attachment 1). The major subdivision <br />was approved on April 1, 1997. The single family residential subdivision is located within Orange <br />County's planning jurisdiction, and was developed and approved subject to the County's zoning <br />and subdivision regulations. There is no known subdivision violation associated with the <br />subdivision. <br />The final plat for the subdivision was recorded on January 2, 1998, and the plat was recorded <br />again on October 12, 2001 to reflect revised lot lines for Lots 4, 5, and 6 (Attachment 2). <br />Amberidge Drive was designed to public road standards but has been a private road in the <br />
