MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br />March 5, 2018 <br />2 <br />Tamara Dempsey-Tanner asked whether the sales from the café were meeting expectations. <br />Sharron Hinton responded that it has actually exceeded expectations and is doing well. <br />Pat Garavaglia wanted to commend staff fordoing such a great job and making the budget easy to <br />understand. <br />Tamara Dempsey-Tanner moved that the Social Services Board accept the proposed budget as <br />submitted and forward it on to the County Manager and the Board of County Commissioners for <br />review and approval. Pat Garavaglia seconded the motion. The motion was carried without <br />dissent. <br />2.Director’s Report <br />Nancy Coston presented an abstract requesting $125,000 for the rest of the year for Emergency <br />Assistance. This will enable the agency to continue to provide Emergency Assistance for the <br />remainder of the year. The request will be on the agenda for the Thursday Board of County <br />Commissioners Meeting. <br />The Spring Job Fair will be held on April 11th at the Hillsborough Commons. <br />Earl McKee apologized for being late to the meeting and hopes that he will be able to attend more <br />regularly now. <br /> <br />VII. Announcements <br />Pat Garavagliamoved to adjourn the meeting at 5:19pm.Susie Enochtsseconded the motion.
