Orange County, NC 2016 Population Health Dashboards Summary: Orange County performs well on most Chronic Disease indicators compared to NC, the US, Peers, and available Target values. While the number of deaths due to diseases of the heart has increased in the past 3 years, the Age-Adjusted mortality rate has been declining, implying heart disease mortality is generally improving or stable. However, prevalence of chronic diseases, such as Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes has increased in the last decade. Breast Cancer Incidence and Mortality in Orange County continues to be higher than all corresponding benchmarks. Preventative cancer screening rates are lower than peers and targets.
