<br /> 42 <br /> <br />Eligibility to qualify for the Food and Nutrition Services Program is determined by: <br /> Income <br /> Household composition <br /> Citizenship/Immigration Status, and <br /> Resources. <br />The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps to alleviate hunger by supplementing food <br />budgets in low-income households. SNAP is used by children, working parents, elderly, and people with <br />disabilities. <br /> <br /> 8.2% of county residents utilized SNAP/EBT benefits over the past 12 months, accounting for <br />approximately 4,213 persons60. <br />AffordableHousing <br />Housing that is priced so that households with low incomes can afford to purchase and very low <br />incomes can afford to rent it is considered affordable housing.
