Since we will be talking about health, what does being healthy mean to you, personally? <br /> <br /> PROBE: Think about physical health. Mental health. Environmental health. <br /> <br />2. Another way to think about health is looking at the health of a community, not just individuals. <br />To you, what would a healthy community look like? <br /> <br /> PROBE: In a perfect world, how would you describe a perfect community? <br />o Built Environment (sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, etc.) <br />o Safety <br />o Access <br />o Transportation/travel time <br />o Housing <br />o Employment <br />o Schools <br />o Recreation activities <br />o Religion <br />o Healthcare <br /> <br />TRANSITION QUESTIONS <br /> <br />3. What do you think are the healthiest things about your physical community/Orange County? <br /> :PROBE: parks/trails, recreation facilities, numerous medical facilities, farmer’s markets? <br /> <br />4. Now, thinking about less healthy things, which things concern you the most about the health of <br />your physical community/Orange County? <br /> PROBE: Thinking about where you live, are their health issues that specifically concern <br />you? <br />o Tobacco use <br />o Drug use <br />o Violent crime <br />o Alcohol <br />o Low graduation rates <br />o Lack of access to things such as: health care, grocery stores <br />o Farmer’s market <br />KEY QUESTIONS <br /> <br />THE MOST TIME PROBING SHOULD BE SPENT ON THESE QUESTIONS. FOLLOW ANSWERS WITH PHRASES <br />LIKE, “TELL ME MORE ABOUT…” OR “COULD YOU GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE…” OR “IN WHAT WAYS…”
