As it relates <br />to the BOCC goals and priorities, the BOH expects to: <br />• Explore the intersectionality of racial and health inequities to the <br />services provided at Orange County Health Department and <br />community programs. <br />• Continue to support Family Success Alliance specifically in <br />collaboration with Legal Aide (may require funding) <br />• Provide funding support within the two school districts for <br />programming around nutrition and physical activity (will require <br />funding) <br /> <br /> <br />What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br />upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the Commissioners’ <br />attention? <br /> <br />The BOH will continue to pay close attention to issues and concerns on the <br />local, state, and federal level as it relates closely to the Strategic Plan. This <br />includes areas concerning: <br />• Social Determinants of Health – Family Success Alliance, racial and <br />health equity, communication of health information to the public, E- <br />cigarette policies <br />• Physical Activity and Nutrition – Exploration of policies, tools to <br />communicate resources, support provided to the two local school <br />systems <br />• Mental Health and Substance Abuse – Reimbursement around <br />behavioral health, Cardinal Innovation services, screening tools for <br />clients, collaboration with partners within the criminal justice <br />system, follow up on Mental Health Gap Analysis (focus on school- <br />age children)
