The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is the designated recipient for venomous <br />reptiles that are confiscated in violation of the State s Article 55 legislation pertaining to public <br />endangerment with venomous reptiles (captive venomous snakes maintained in captivity in <br />unsafe conditions). As such I have experience with working in coordination with law enforcement <br />and animal control in responding to cases of live animals (In this case, venomous reptiles) being <br />kept as pets inappropriately by members of the general public. For a two- semester Analysis and Evaluation course, I <br />conducted a study about animal shelter euthanasia rates in North Carolina animal shelters. For <br />an Organizational Theory course, I conducted multiple interviews over the course of a semester <br />with Burlington Animal Services, studying the shelter s administrative operations. I am currently <br />a county management intern at Catawba County and am working on a shelter staffing analysis <br />for Catawba County Animal Services. Subsequently, I am spending a fair amount of time in that <br />shelter.
