1 <br /> <br />APPROVED 4/17/2018 <br /> MINUTES <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />April 3, 2018 <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 <br />at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Building, in Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Dorosin and Commissioners Barry Jacobs, <br />Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Mia Burroughs <br />COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br />COUNTY STAFF P RESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br />Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br />appropriately below) <br /> <br /> Chair Dorosin called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> <br />1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> <br />Chair Dorosin noted the following items at the Commissioners’ places: <br />- PowerPoint for Item 4-c: Capital Investment Plan (CIP) <br />- PowerPoint for Item 6 -a: Major Subdivision Preliminary Plat Application-Triple Crown Farms <br />- PowerPoint for Item 6 -b: Site Acquisition Development of a Multi-Purpose County Campus <br />- Food Council Handout: Commissioner Rich will speak to this under board announcements <br />- blue sheet: Proposed draft resolution from Commissioner Price ( to be considered at a <br />future meeting) titled – Orange County Supports 3DaysCount: “A <br />NATIONWIDE EFFORT TO MAKE COMMUNITIES SAFER AND ENSURE <br />BETTER OUTCOMES FOR ALL BY APPLYING COMMON SENSE <br />SOLUTIONS TO WIDESPREAD PRETRIAL JUSTICE CHALLENGES”. <br /> - lavender sheet: Proposed Draft Proclamation from Commissioner Price (to be considered at <br />a future meeting) titled: National County Government Month - April 2018-- <br />"Serving the Underserved" <br />- Hand out from Chamber of Commerce: Chair Dorosin to speak to this item under Board <br />petitions and announcements <br />- Hand out- Arts Moment: Chair Dorosin to speak to this item under Board petitions and <br />announcements <br /> <br /> Chair Dorosin suggested moving Item 11-b – Parks and Recreation Council Appointments – <br />up on the agenda to Item 4-d. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) agreed by consensus. <br /> <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />Chair Dorosin dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br /> <br />Arts Moment - Fred Joiner
