Duke Energy-Neighborhood Energy Saver Program <br /> <br />Commissioner McKee arrived at 7:11 p.m. <br /> <br />Bonnie Hammersley introduced Indira Everett, the District Manager for Government & <br />Community Relations for Chatham, Durham, Lee and Orange Counties, who then introduced <br />Valencia Roner, Program Manager-Duke Energy. <br />Valencia Roner made the following PowerPoint presentation: <br /> <br />Neighborhood Energy Saver Program <br />March 22, 2018 <br />Energy Saver Program <br />• An energy efficiency program targeting DEC’s income-qualifying customers <br />• Delivered by neighborhood segments <br />• Provides each resident: <br />1. Home energy assessment <br />2. Installation of several energy conservation measures (ECMs) <br />3. Energy education that will enable the residents to make behavioral changes to <br />reduce and control energy usage <br />NES Target Market –Eligibility <br />Eligible neighborhoods are those defined segments of Duke Energy customers where <br />approximately 50% of the households have incomes equal to or less than 200% of the federal <br />poverty level*. <br />*Federal Poverty Income Guidelines issued by the US DOE <br /> <br />NES Energy Conservation Measures <br /> LED/Energy Efficient Bulbs (15) <br /> Water Heater Wrap* & Insulation for Water Pipes <br /> Water heater temperature check & adjustment <br /> Low Flow Faucet Aerator (2) <br /> Low Flow Showerhead (2) <br /> Wall Plate Thermometer <br /> AC Winterization Kit (3) <br /> A year’s supply of HVAC filters <br /> Change Filter Calendar <br /> Air Infiltration Reduction Measures <br />Neighborhood Kick-Off Event <br />NES <br />Chapel Hill Neighborhood Collaborators <br /> <br />NES Kick-Off Events <br />April 10th – 6:30-8pm at Hargraves Community Center <br />Residents Receive: <br />• Free catered meal <br />• Demonstration on the FREE energy savings products they’ll receive when participating
