27

Bonnie Hammersley said she cannot answer that question at this time, but this would be
a Capital Budget item. She said she will discuss this with Theo Letman during the budget
process.
Chair Dorosin sa id this is a one-time expense, which seems applicable to the social
justice fund or the fund balance, and this seems to be low hanging fruit.
Bonnie Hammersley said that the vehicle cost is actually $90,000, and operational costs
would also need to be considered.
Chair Dorosin said maybe Hillsborough could kick in some money.
Commissioner Price asked if the MPO had approved the grant, would the County still be
responsible for the remaining $60,000.
Theo Letman said only a portion of it. He said other grant funds would have been
available.
Commissioner Marcoplos said this is all in the context of how much money the County is
willing to spend in addition to the $30,000. He said the notion that a bus route was killed,
because $30,000 was not pursued, is erroneous.
Commissioner Jacobs asked for an electronic copy of the presentation.
Chair Dorosin reminded staff to use double sided copies.

8. Consent Agenda

• Removal of Any Items from Consent Agenda

Item b by Commissioner Price.
Item f by Chair Dorosin.

• Approval of Remaining Consent Agenda

A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Burroughs to
approve the remaining items on the Consent Agenda.

VOTE: UNANIMOUS

• Discussion of the Items Removed from the Consent Agenda

b. Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget Amendment #7
The Board approved budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year
2017-18 for the Department of Social Services; Health Department; Library Services; Visitors
Bureau; Arts Commission; Criminal Justice Resource Department; Orange County Partnership
to End Homelessness; Planning and Inspections Department; and Department of Agriculture,
Environment, Parks and Recreation.

Commissioner Price said she wanted to highlight the great efforts of Café 13 and the
Department of Social Service (DSS).

A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to
approve the budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2017-18 for
the Department of Social Services; Health Department; Library Services; Visitors Bureau; Arts
Commission; Criminal Justice Resource Department; Orange County Partnership to End
Homelessness; Planning and Inspections Department; and Department of Agriculture,
Environment, Parks and Recreation
