AGENDA ITEM # 2 <br />ATTACHMENT B <br />Appendix B <br />NC State Department of Public Instruction <br />Allotment General Information FY 2018 -19 <br />State Fund Allotment Formulas <br />The State of North Carolina allots funds to public schools on the following <br />basis: <br />Classroom Teachers <br />Dollars associated with these positions are based on each LEA's average teacher <br />salary including benefits, rather than the statewide average teacher salary. This is a <br />position allotment and you must stay within the positions, rather than the dollars, <br />allotted. This calculation is necessary to determine your LEA's allotment per ADM <br />for charter schools. <br />Instructional Support Personnel <br />1 position per 218.55 ADM. <br />Dollars associated with these positions are based on each LEA's average instruction <br />support salary including benefits, rather than the statewide average salary. This is a <br />position allotment and you must stay within the positions, rather than the dollars <br />allotted. This calculation is necessary in order to determine your LEA's allotment <br />per ADM for charter schools. <br />Academically or Intellectually Gifted Students <br />$1,322.28 per child for 4% of ADM. <br />At -Risk Student Services <br />Each LEA receives the dollar equivalent of one resource officer ($37,838) per high <br />school. Of the remaining funds, 50% is distributed based on ADM ($89.10 per <br />ADM) and 50% is distributed based on number of poor children, per the Federal <br />Title I Low Income poverty data ($358.14 per poor child). Each LEA receives a <br />minimum of the dollar equivalent of two teachers and two instructional support <br />personnel ($272,812). <br />Central Office Administration <br />Decreased by LEA from FY 16 -17 Initial Allotment is -3.9% <br />Classroom Materials/Instructional Supplies/Equipment <br />$30.12 per ADM plus $2.69 per 8`h and 91h grade ADM for PSAT funding.. <br />Driver Education <br />$195.85 per public, private and federal 9th grade ADM. <br />
