9 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />WHEREAS, victims’ rights are a non-partisan, non-political issue, and Marsy’s Law is 2 <br />one approach to ensuring victims’ rights; 3 <br /> 4 <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of 5 <br />Commissioners does hereby stand in support of House Bill 551/Senate Bill 595, a bill to amend 6 <br />the Law and Constitution of North Carolina to provide better protections and safeguards to 7 <br />victims of crimes; and 8 <br /> 9 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners 10 <br />encourages all residents of Orange County, North Carolina, to join in the commitment to protect 11 <br />the rights of victims of crime in North Carolina. 12 <br /> 13 <br />This 20th day of March, 2018. 14 <br /> 15 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Rich to 16 <br />approve the resolution and authorize the Chair to sign. 17 <br /> 18 <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS 19 <br /> 20 <br />11. *Appointments (MOVED) 21 <br /> 22 <br />a.
