<br /> <br />Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through voting and <br />volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to participation. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board: <br />1) Meet with the three members of the legislative delegation representing <br />Orange County in the North Carolina General Assembly to discuss issues of <br />concern to the Board of Commissioners and the legislative delegation in <br />preparation for the 2018 North Carolina General Assembly Session; and <br />2) Following the discussion, provide any necessary direction on next steps to <br />staff and to Commissioners Mark Dorosin and Penny Rich as the 2018 <br />appointees to the Legislative Issues Work Group regarding the development <br />of any information for Board of Commissioners’ consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />2
