28 VOTE: UNANIMOUS 1 2 h. Letter in Support of the White Cross Volunteer Fire Department’s Grant 3 Application to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program 4 The Board authorized the Chair to sign a letter to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program 5 supporting the White Cross Volunteer Fire Department’s grant request. 6 7 Fire Chief Phillip Nasseri said this is a regional grant, and it is unique that all ten fire 8 departments, EMS and Sheriff’s office can work collaboratively on a training center to train on 9 various emergency services. He said matching funds are also now available, and this has 10 support from many legislators. He said this endorsement will hopefully help secure the grant 11 approved by Homeland Security. He said land has been selected, but it is hoped a better 12 location will be found. 13 14 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Price to 15 approve a letter to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program supporting the White Cross 16 Volunteer Fire Department’s grant request. 17 18 VOTE: UNANIMOUS 19 20 a. Minutes 21 The Board approved the minutes from February 22 and March 8, 2018 as submitted by the 22 Clerk to the Board. 23 24 b. Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget Amendment #7 25 The Board approved budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 26 2017-18 for the Department of Social Services; Health Department; Library Services; Visitors 27 Bureau; Arts Commission; Criminal Justice Resource Department; Orange County Partnership 28 to End Homelessness; Planning and Inspections Department; and Department of Agriculture, 29 Environment, Parks and Recreation. 30 31 c. Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance (SAPFO) – Receipt and Transmittal 32 of 2018 Annual Technical Advisory Committee Report 33 The Board received the 2018 Annual Report of the SAPFO Technical Advisory Committee 34 (SAPFOTAC), and authorized the Chair to sign the transmittal letter and transmit it to the 35 SAPFO partners for comments before certification in May. 36 37 d. Recommendation to Create Two Permanent Full-time Deputy Sheriff I Positions in 38 the Orange County Sheriff’s Office 39 The Board approved the recommendation of funding two full-time permanent Deputy Sheriff I 40 positions, replacing temporary positions at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office currently funded 41 in the FY2017/2018 budget. 42 43 e. University of North Carolina Health Care System Electronic Medical Record 44 System Access Agreement 45 The Board approved an agreement for $127,361 with the University of North Carolina Health 46 Care System (UNCHCS) to obtain the right for the Health Department to access and use 47 UNCHCS’s electronic medical records system, Epic Systems, as a better records system for the 48 Department over its current system and also make the Department compatible with UNCHCS 49 and authorize the Manager to sign. 50 51
