27

Bonnie Hammersley said she cannot answer that question at this time, but this would be 1
a Capital Budget item. She said she will discuss this with Theo Letman during the budget 2
process. 3
Chair Dorosin said this is a one-time expense, which seems applicable to the social 4
justice fund or the fund balance, and this seems to be low hanging fruit. 5
Bonnie Hammersley said that the vehicle cost is actually $90,000, and operational costs 6
would also need to be considered. 7
Chair Dorosin said maybe Hillsborough could kick in some money. 8
Commissioner Price asked if the MPO had approved the grant, would the County still be 9
responsible for the remaining $60,000. 10
Theo Letman said only a portion of it. He said other grant funds would have been 11
available. 12
Commissioner Marcoplos said this is all in the context of how much money the County is 13
willing to spend in addition to the $30,000. He said the notion that a bus route was killed, 14
because $30,000 was not pursued, is erroneous. 15
Commissioner Jacobs asked for an electronic copy of the presentation. 16
Chair Dorosin reminded staff to use double sided copies. 17
18
8. Consent Agenda 19
20
• Removal of Any Items from Consent Agenda 21
22
Item b by Commissioner Price. 23
Item f by Chair Dorosin. 24
25
• Approval of Remaining Consent Agenda 26
27
A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Burroughs to 28
approve the remaining items on the Consent Agenda. 29
30
VOTE: UNANIMOUS 31
32
• Discussion of the Items Removed from the Consent Agenda 33
34
b. Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget Amendment #7 35
The Board approved budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 36
2017-18 for the Department of Social Services; Health Department; Library Services; Visitors 37
Bureau; Arts Commission; Criminal Justice Resource Department; Orange County Partnership 38
to End Homelessness; Planning and Inspections Department; and Department of Agriculture, 39
Environment, Parks and Recreation. 40
41
Commissioner Price said she wanted to highlight the great efforts of Café 13 and the 42
Department of Social Service (DSS). 43
44
A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to 45
approve the budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2017-18 for 46
the Department of Social Services; Health Department; Library Services; Visitors Bureau; Arts 47
Commission; Criminal Justice Resource Department; Orange County Partnership to End 48
Homelessness; Planning and Inspections Department; and Department of Agriculture, 49
Environment, Parks and Recreation 50
51
