Duke University <br />Duke University's station has been in existence for 7 years, the longest duration <br />of the three stations visited. It is located near Brightleaf Square on Buchanan <br />Street in central Durham. Duke currently runs 11 trucks (pickups) on CNG, and <br />has nine years of experience with their existing CNG infrastructure. The Duke <br />system is a Fuelmaker system, similar to that of the Town of Chapel Hill (and the <br />type proposed for Orange County). <br />Duke officials expressed positive feedback on their CNG technology and <br />vehicles, and a high level of satisfaction with their reliability and functionality. The <br />university plans to continue adding CNG vehicles to their fleet over time, <br />Town of Chapel Hill <br />The Town of Chapel Hill has a fast-fill CNG station at their existing Public Works <br />facility on Airport Road. Chapel Hill's station is a 3600 psi/3000 psi FuelMaker <br />unit, and is very similar to the facility at Duke (and proposed for Orange County). <br />It should be noted that the Town will be relocating their fueling stations and all <br />other Public Works functions to the Town Operations Center on Millhouse Road, <br />which is under construction and slated to open in late 2006.
