7 <br />performed by the manufacturer, or by PSNC Energy which is now a certified <br />repair entity for one of the two infrastructure vendors. <br />CNG vehicles that are available for the 2005 model year include the Chevrolet <br />Silverado truck, the GMS Sierra truck, and the Honda Civic GX. <br />Investigation and Site Visits - Other CNG Stations <br />In preparing this report, the Work Group made site visits on October 18 and 20 to <br />three existing CNG stations in the Triangle: the City of Raleigh, Duke University, <br />and the Town of Chapel Hill. <br />City of Raleigh <br />The City of Raleigh facility is located on US 64 East in Raleigh, at one of the <br />city's maintenance facilities. Raleigh's station differed from the Chapel Hill and <br />Durham station in several ways - a different manufacturer, and different storage <br />units (spherical). <br />Travis Brown, Vehicle Fleet Services Superintendent for the City, met with the <br />work group and talked about their experiences with CNG vehicles. Raleigh's <br />rapid-fill station, manufactured by ANSI, was installed in 2001 and currently fuels <br />xx vehicles in the City fleet. This facility provides 3600 psi fueling and is open <br />from 7 am-3:30 pm. Other governmental, commercial or private vehicles are <br />allowed to use the facility, but only with prior authorization and the fuel must be <br />paid for in the Public Works Vehicle Fleet office. Mr. Brown reported no issues of <br />concern related to reliability or maintenance of the CNG vehicles or equipment <br />beyond routine maintenance.
