The holiday days delayed my
comments. My apologies. You advised me this morning that you could still accept these comments.
On page 4 of the meeting notes pertaining to the Major Subdivision Preliminary Plat for Morgan
Ridge, please delete bullet 4 that references a comment I made before the meeting. Rather, please
insert the following comment:
"The applicant and developer are advised that Jones Ferry Road is included in the adopted
Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) prepared by the North Carolina Department of
Transportation (NCDOT) and Orange County (October, 2013). While there is no immediate project
planned for Jones Ferry Road, the road is designated as a Minor Thoroughfare in need of on -road
bicycle improvements. Projects in an adopted CTP have the potential over time of gaining potential
funding and then being included in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for the planning
jurisdiction in which they are included, which in this case is the Triangle Area Regional Planning
Organization (TARPO). Through a project prioritization process, projects in the MTP have the
potential of future inclusion in the State's Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). While at this
time there are NO AVAILABLE PLANS for bicycle improvements on Jones Ferry Road, such
improvements can vary from widened road shoulders to additional right -of -way for the development of
bike lanes."
Please contact me should you have any questions.
Regards,
