Page5of14 <br /> <br />4.Anannouncementoftheopenseatwillbemadeatthetimetheresignation <br />becomeseffective. <br /> <br />G.Vacancies <br />1.Upontheexpirationofthetermofserviceofmembersorshouldavacancy <br />otherwiseoccur,theOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersshallhavethe <br />responsibilityofselectingandappointingnewmemberstotheadvisoryboard. <br /> <br />H.Removal <br />1.MembersofOrangeCounty’sadvisoryboardsserveatthepleasureoftheOrange <br />CountyBoardofCommissionersandmayberemovedforanyreasonornoreason <br />withorwithoutcause. <br />2.MembersofOrangeCounty’sadvisoryboardsareexpectedtoabidebythehighest <br />ethicalandprofessionalstandards. <br />3.InadditiontoSectionIII(H)(1)above,theOrangeCountyBoardofCommissioners <br />shallremoveanymemberofanadvisoryboardforneglectofduty,nonparticipation <br />thatbecomesproblematictotheadvisoryboard’sfunctioningandpurpose.Neglect <br />ofdutyandnonparticipationaredefinedasfollows: <br />a.Missingthree(3)consecutivemeetings;or <br />b.MissingtwentyͲfivepercent(25%)ofmeetingswithinanytwelve(12) <br />monthperiod. <br />c.ForthissectionIII(H)(3)toapply,themissedmeetingsinquestionmustbe <br />unexcused. <br />4.TheadvisoryboardChairshallnotifyamemberifthememberisatriskofbeing <br />removedpursuanttosectionIII(H)(3). <br />5.TheadvisoryboardChairshallnotifytheClerktotheBoardofOrangeCounty <br />CommissionersifamemberhasviolatedsectionIII(H)(3). <br /> <br />I.ReleasefromService <br />1.WhenitisdeemednecessarybytheOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersto <br />releaseamemberfromhisorhertermofappointmentonanadvisoryboard,the <br />affectedindividualshallbenotifiedbytheClerktotheBoardofCounty <br />Commissionersbyletterand/orelectronicmail. <br />2.Whenanadvisoryboardhascompleteditsfunction,themembersshallbeinformed <br />ofthecompletionoftheirserviceandtheterminationoftheadvisoryboardby <br />letterand/orelectronicmail. <br /> <br />SECTIONIV.ROLESANDRESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />A.Members <br />1.Membersshallattendmeetingsoftheadvisoryboard,serveonsubcommittees,and <br />performotherfunctionsasassignedbytheadvisoryboardchairwiththeapproval <br />oftheadvisoryboard. <br />2.IfamemberisunabletoattendameetingthemembershallcontacttheChairor <br />designatedstaffasmuchinadvanceofthescheduledmeetingaspossible. <br />3.ExofficiomembersmaybeappointedbytheOrangeCountyBoardof <br />Commissionersforthepurposeofmeetingsubjectmatterexpertiseneeds.Ex <br />officiomembersarenonvotingmembersoftheadvisoryboard. <br />Attachment 2 9
