Page4of14 <br /> <br />a.TheOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersmayelecttointerview <br />applicantstocertainadvisoryboards. <br />b.IntheeventtheOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersconductssuch <br />interviewstheadvisoryboardtowhichtheapplicantseeksappointment <br />mayidentifyandsuggestinterviewquestionstotheOrangeCountyBoardof <br />Commissioners. <br />4.NopersonappointedtoanOrangeCountyadvisoryboardshallserveonthatboard <br />formorethantwoconsecutivetermsofthreeyearseach. <br />5.TheOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersmaydirecttheClerktotheBoardof <br />CountyCommissionerstoestablishanorientationprogramforcertainadvisoryor <br />otherboards. <br />6.Extensionofamember’stermmaybeapprovedbytheOrangeCountyBoardof <br />CommissionersifitisdeterminedthatitisinthebestinterestofOrangeCountyto <br />allowanindividualtocontinuetoserve. <br /> <br />E.Term <br />1.Eachappointedadvisoryboardmembershallholdofficeuntilthequalificationand <br />appointmentofhisorhersuccessororuntiloneyearhaselapsedsincethe <br />expirationofthetermforwhichthememberwasappointed,whicheverfirstoccurs. <br />Nopersonshallserveasanappointedmemberofanadvisoryboardformorethan <br />twoconsecutivetermsofthreeyears. <br />2.Inordertoestablishstaggeredtermstheoriginalvotingmembersoftheadvisory <br />boardshallbeappointedasfollows: <br />a.OneͲthirdforaoneyearterm. <br />b.OneͲthirdforatwoyearterm. <br />c.Onethirdforathreeyearterm. <br />d.Thereafter,eachnewlyappointedvotingmembershallserveforathree <br />yearterm. <br />3.Advisoryboardmemberswhosetermsareduetoexpiremayrequesttheybe <br />appointedtoasecondtermorbeaskedtoacceptasecondtermappointmentto <br />theposition. <br />4.NotwithstandingsectionIII(E)(1)abovethemembershipofanyadvisoryboard <br />memberwhomtheOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersdeclinetoappointtoa <br />secondtermshallimmediatelyterminateupontheexpirationoftheirterm. <br />5.Advisoryboardmembersmaynotserveconcurrentlyonmorethantwo(2)Orange <br />Countyadvisoryboards.Thisrestrictiondoesnotimpactanindividual’sserviceon <br />boardsandcommissionsthatarenotOrangeCountyadvisoryboardsorshortterm <br />taskforcesorworkgroups. <br /> <br />F.Resignation <br />1.Ifamemberwishestoresign,themembershallsubmittheresignationinwritingto <br />theChairoftheadvisoryboardonwhichthememberservesandtheClerktothe <br />BoardofOrangeCountyCommissioners,notingtheeffectivedateofthe <br />resignation. <br />2.TheadvisoryboardChairwillforwardacopyoftheresignationtotheClerktothe <br />BoardofOrangeCountyCommissioners. <br />3.TheOrangeCountyBoardofCommissionersmayrecognizetheindividual’sservice <br />viaaletterorcertificate. <br />Attachment 2 8
