The proposed access managementplan examines the US 70 and Old NCHighway 10 corridors <br />within the Eno EDD and recommendsan access management concept to best meet local <br />conditions and the needs of businesses and residents while maintaining the functionality of <br />these important arterial facilities for current and future traffic. The improvement of the <br />functionality of these arterials to both serve commuting and travelling traffic together with <br />serving the businesses and residences along these routes is of high local and strategic <br />importance as future development proceeds in the Eno EDD. <br />Attachment 1is the Draft EnoEconomic Development District (EDD) Access Management <br />Plan. The Eno EDD Access Management Planis also available on the Orange County <br />Planning Department website at: http://orangecountync.gov/planning/SpecialProjects.asp . <br />Public Outreach: <br />In an effort to better inform interested persons in an informal setting, a Public Information <br />Meeting/Open House was held on September 4, 2013 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Shared <br />Visions Retreat Center (historic Murphey School), 3717 Murphey School Road, Durham, NC (in <br />Orange County). <br />BOCC Public Hearing: <br />The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and Planning Board helda public hearing on the <br />Plan at the September 9, 2013 Quarterly Public Hearing. Staff will provide an update on the <br />public hearing at the meeting. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S):Staff recommends the OUTBoard: <br />1.Receive Staff’s introduction to the Access Management Plan and begin its review at <br />home in preparation for the October 16th meeting. <br />34
